The Social Science Center (SSC)

What?
Located on the second floor of the Downes/Williams complex on the north end of the Long Walk, the SSC is a big room, with high ceilings and plenty of space to curl up and read or work in small groups with other students.  The room is conveniently located near both the Economics and Political Science Departments, so students can use this room as a sitting area while they wait for faculty appointments.

The room also has two dual-boot (Mac and PC) computers connected to the Trinity network and loaded with all the software you regularly find in lab computers.  The room is also connected to the TrinAir wireless network, so bring your laptop!

Who?
The SSC Director is Rachael Barlow, a sociologist who has worked at Trinity from 2004 - 2009 as the Social Sciences Data Coordinator.  Her office is Downes 206, just down the hall from the SSC.  Feel free to drop by, or make an appointment with her after checking her availability on her calendar.  You can also contact her via email, instant message (Google/AIM: rachdata) or phone (860.297.4114).

SCC students major in the social sciences (Anthropology, Economics, Educational Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, and Sociology),  are taking a class in one of these disciplines, or are seeking to develop the skills these disciplines demand.

Why?
Students who come to the SSC are looking for a quiet place to study, other social science students to work with, or assistance gathering or interpreting social science data.  Why haven't YOU stopped by yet?
